Manuel Velazquez "El Clasico"

Brazilian rosewood, amber spruce top. El Classico. 1961.  Made under Manuel's direction by Juan Orosco Sr., Titi Amadeo (Rubio's teacher), and a few other great makers worked with Velazquez making the El Clasico model.  This is a great sounding example.

There are several cleated cracks on the top and a well-repaired crack on the back. The neck joint is made without a Spanish heel making neck resets easily done as is sometimes needed as the instrument ages. Manuel considered these instruments often times to be as good or better than his own concert models.
